Steve Solar, Plano’s media relations director, said a continuing series of free weekend arts events begins this weekend at McCall Plaza and that Parks and Recreation will sponsor the third annual Spring Into Color 5K and community garage sale.
"A continuing series of free weekend events all month long begins this weekend at McCall Plaza. It starts with karaoke night on Bridal, followed by downtown sessions with the Wildlands on Saturday and the Battle of the Balladeers on Sunday," Solar said. He directed listeners to "plano.gov/arts" for the full schedule.
On the Spring Into Color event, Solar said, "Plano Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the third annual Spring Into Color 5 ks and community garage sale on Saturday, March." The broadcast did not include a specific day of March for the garage sale; Solar provided the registration fee and deadline: "The 5 k registration fee is $25 and the deadline to register is March 20." The city did not specify the starting time, course map, or permit details during the announcement.
Organizers encouraged both runners and shoppers to participate; Solar said runners will pass through the scenic Oak Point Nature Preserve and shoppers can explore garage-sale items downtown. For the full schedule, Solar directed audiences to plano.gov/arts.
