School committee approves minutes and accepts $4,000 Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners grant

The committee voted to approve minutes for the Jan. 21, Feb. 6 and Feb. 13 meetings and separately approved the Jan. 30 minutes as amended to correct typographical errors. The roll call for the first approval recorded Mr. Moskovich, Mr. Brown and Ms. Cormier voting yes; the chair also stated her affirmative vote.
The committee also accepted an Explore grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners in the amount of $4,000. District staff said the grant will be used to purchase books for the elementary-school libraries, including books in languages represented in the student body. The committee thanked district librarians for the effort required to apply for and secure the award.
Votes at the meeting on these consent items were recorded as unanimous among the members present for each motion.
