District plans migration to SmartSites tied to ParentSquare for improved mobile access

Mr. Benson told the board the district launched its current site in 2020 and that mobile navigation and certain features (for example, teacher pages and CAPTCHA issues) have caused user problems. The district’s web‑design committee reviewed five vendors and recommended SmartSites largely because it integrates with ParentSquare, the district’s mass‑communication tool. SmartSites would allow the district to surface teacher portals, ParentSquare messages and Google Classroom content on the website and improve the mobile experience, the presenter said.
Staff said migration work would begin this spring with a goal of going live in July and that the move would require a slight budget increase; specifics were not detailed in the work session and staff said formal procurement or contract approval would return to the board for action as needed.
