The committee approved a consent agenda that included approval of meeting minutes, a DHS overnight trip, accounts‑payable warrants, surplus inventory, a Student Opportunity Act memo and a request to repurpose capital funds to upgrade the Onion Field softball facility.
The Duxbury School Committee approved its consent agenda on March 7, which included multiple routine items and a request to repurpose capital funds for safety and functionality upgrades to the Onion Field softball complex.
Administrators said the Onion Field work was originally in the capital request but shifted because the work was expected to be supported with ARPA funds. That support did not materialize and, after discussions about available open‑classroom surplus funds (ARPA‑origin), the district proposed repurposing those funds to address safety and usability issues for the softball teams. “Through that conversation is then, where this came about to repurpose some of the funds that are currently available for the onion field upgrades, and it'll address a number of safety issues that we have out there and, and the functionality for the softball teams,” a staff member said.
The consent agenda vote also approved: minutes from the Jan. 29, 2025 meeting; the DHS Latin Club overnight trip in April 2025; accounts‑payable warrants FY25 numbers 32, 33 and 35; a surplus inventory request; and a Student Opportunity Act FY25–26 memo prepared by staff.
