The Edgar County Board on Feb. 15 approved routine meeting business, approved a resolution authorizing deeds of conveyance for select properties to the city of Paris, and voted to table another resolution for further discussion.
The board approved the Feb. 15, 2025, meeting minutes after a motion by Russ and a second from Andy Sykes. The clerk called the voice vote and the chair announced the minutes approved.
Board members approved claims against the county following a motion by Dan and a second from Russ. County board member claims were approved following a motion by Andy and a second from Russ.
The board also approved a resolution from Joseph E. Myers, tax agent, authorizing the board chairman to execute deeds of conveyance transferring listed properties to the city of Paris; those properties will be removed from the county tax roll "at least at this point," the meeting record states. A roll call recorded "yes" votes for Packer, Brunner, Allen, Farnham and Lawton; the chair indicated the motion passed.
Earlier in the meeting the board "tabled" a higher-resolution item for further discussion. A motion to table was made and seconded by Russ; the chair announced the item tabled.
Other procedural business approved included not moving into closed session for review of closed-session minutes; the board deferred that review to a future meeting. The meeting adjourned by motion of Russ with Andy seconding.
