Michigan House advances public-health bill to third reading, adopts several ceremonial resolutions

The Michigan House of Representatives on March 4 advanced a public-health bill to third reading and adopted several ceremonial resolutions while referring a bundle of bills to committees and receiving a senate bill transmission.

Representative Linting’s House Bill 4032, a measure to amend the state public health code, was moved to third reading after the chamber considered it on second reading. The bill was "considered read for a second time by its title," and, after no amendments were offered, the House advanced it to third reading.

The body also adopted multiple resolutions by voice vote. The chamber adopted House Resolution 31, which declared March 2025 as Agriculture Month in Michigan, and House Resolution 32, which declared March 2025 as Agriculture Appreciation Month. Representative Nyar addressed the House in support of Resolution 32, saying, "I rise today in support of my resolution recognizing March, 02/2025 as Agriculture Appreciation Month."
