The Sudbury Select Board voted to adopt town manager Andys proposed work plan and goals for 2025 after a discussion about timelines and staff involvement. The vote took place during the boards Jan. 28 meeting and passed by roll call.
Board members said the goals were generally appropriately ambitious and requested periodic check-ins. Several members asked the town manager to provide quarterly updates and to separate ongoing operational duties from time-limited, high-profile projects.
Town manager Andy said he had aligned his goals with the boards previously adopted priorities and had sought input from department heads. He described the added completion-date column in the goals document and said some items will be ongoing while others have definable end dates.
Board members raised specific items that they want tracked, including user access policies for the Fairbank Community Center and the towns ARPA closeout schedule. Charlie Russo and others suggested organizing some goals by quarter so the town managers workload and priorities are clearer over the year.
The board approved the goals by roll call vote. Members discussed making the goals a living document, shared with senior staff and updated as necessary. Several board members said they appreciated that department heads were engaged in goal development and that many goals will require cross-department work.
The board asked the town manager to provide at least quarterly status reports to the Select Board summarizing progress, roadblocks and any request for board direction or resources.
