Grapevine‑Colleyville ISD administrators told the board that, after the May 2024 bond focused on a three‑year slate of facility projects, the district has contracted Huckabee to conduct a facility capacity study and to facilitate a long‑range visioning process.
The administration said the long‑range study will begin by reviewing current educational and extracurricular programs, campus and facility usage, projected enrollment trends (using a demographer already commissioned by the district), and transfer patterns including employees’ children and out‑of‑boundary students residing in proximate areas. The study’s goal is to produce a systemic, decade‑long plan that aligns budgets and capital planning with curricular and safety needs, infrastructure and technology, and programmatic priorities the board established in the strategic plan.
A stakeholder committee held its first meeting in January; administrators said that committee will help develop the vision and that findings from the capacity study will inform both operating budget forecasts and future capital needs beyond the 2024 bond scope.
