Board member Dr. Rausch made the motion to approve the order calling the 2025 board of trustee general election for place 3 and place 4, and Trustee Cobb seconded the motion. Trustees voted 5–0 to approve the order; two trustees were absent.
Board counsel and staff noted the order may be canceled if no opposing candidates file. A board member asked for clarification about the nomination deadline; staff confirmed that the filing period closes on Feb. 14 and that the board can cancel the election if no contests exist by that date.
