Public commenter urges Putnam schools to adopt recent executive orders on gender ideology

During public comment the board heard from Dr. Sharon Fair of Palatka, who urged district leadership to act on what she described as federal executive orders addressing gender and education.
Dr. Fair began by saying she had emailed the superintendent and the school board about what she called a "transgender problem" in Putnam County Public Schools and that her messages had been blocked. She told the board she had posted evidence to her website and said she had attempted to reach district leadership by multiple email accounts but received blocking notifications.
In prepared remarks she referenced two documents she identified as executive orders: one titled "defending women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the federal government" dated Jan. 20, and a second titled "ending radical indoctrination in K through 12 schooling" dated Jan. 29. She urged Superintendent Sernsey to "instruct teachers to trash Biden's executive orders that push transgender ideology" and to "immediately implement President Trump's executive orders," and to ensure that teachers certified "by trans activists" receive additional education as needed.
Board chair thanked the speaker and noted no board action was taken during the public-comment period; the chair and members briefly noted the district is bound by state law and regulation in its policy work.
