District staff told the finance committee that contracted work at Maywood Middle School is essentially complete and that only a small punch list and finishing tasks remain.
The nut graf: Maywood’s athletic/related site work finished under budget; staff reported roughly $261,000 in spending against an original allocation of $383,356, leaving about $122,000 that the board must direct how to use.
Operations staff who visited the site on Feb. 14 reported installed toilets, sinks and urinals, and said remaining tasks include cleaning, installing a water-supply valve box and minor grading. Procurement/operations said the drain line for an ice machine must be redirected and a small amount of caulking and cleanup remains.
Mister Myers said the project had essentially been completed and that the district expects to spend a minor portion of the remaining $122,000 on final cleanup and punch-list items. Spearman confirmed the accounting: original allocation $383,356; spent about $261,000; balance about $122,000. Staff asked the board for direction on how to allocate any truly unneeded remainder rather than automatically moving it to general "other facility needs."
Ending: The board asked staff to hold the remaining funds for Maywood until the final punch-list costs are known and to bring a recommendation on reallocation or use of any residual balance.
