And ultimately, the board will make the selection, but it will not be without meaningful input from you."
The motion, made by a board member during the meeting's public reconvening from executive session, directed the board to engage Zeal Education Group and authorized the chairman to sign the contract on the board's behalf. Miss Daniel seconded the motion. "They did preliminary research, market research of our community. They even reached out to businesses in the community, to churches," Miss Daniel said, describing work the firm had already done in advance of the contract.
Trustee Nuzzel said he supported moving forward: "I will support this. I think it's important that, you know, we move forward, and I'm looking forward to beginning the process." The board chair added that the engaged search firm will provide more information to the community soon: "Over within the next week, the community will hear more information coming from our engaged search firm about what this process is going to look like, as we together, find the next leader for Rock Hill Schools," the chair said.
