The Public Service Commission on March 6, 2025, approved routine administrative actions including the minutes of the Feb. 27 open meeting; authorization of notices of investigation for agenda items 2โ6; approval of a notice of proceeding for agenda item 7; the reappointments and new appointments to the United Service Fund (USF) Council in docket 5 UF 20 25; and affirmation in docket 62 40 CC 241,226 that there is not sufficient cause to warrant a formal review of a complaint.
The votes were taken without substantive debate. Commissioner 3 moved to approve the Feb. 27, 2025, minutes, Commissioner 4 seconded, and the commission responded "Aye" on the motion. Commissioner 3 later moved to approve the notices of investigation associated with agenda items 2 through 6; a motion to approve the notice of proceeding associated with agenda item 7 followed. In docket 5 UF 20 25 Commissioner 3 moved to approve the four reappointments and three new appointments to the USF Council as proposed by commission staff. Commissioner 3 also moved to affirm the commission's final decision in docket 62 40 CC 241,226 that there is not sufficient cause to warrant a formal review of the complaint. All motions were followed by an "All in favor. Aye." response and recorded as approved.
The chair opened the meeting by saying, "Good morning. I'd like to call to order the open meeting for Thursday, 03/06/2025," and the commission concluded business by scheduling its next open meeting for Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. and adjourning.
Why it matters: the USF Council appointments (four reappointments and three new appointments) advance staffing for the United Service Fund Council as reflected in docket 5 UF 20 25; the commission's affirmation in docket 62 40 CC 241,226 closes a complaint for which the commission did not find sufficient cause to open a formal review. No substantive policy debate, amendments, or dissenting votes were recorded in the available transcript.
