High school entrance redesign to add secure reception, SRO office and finishes; demolition set to start after graduation

He noted a large painted horse statue at the high‑school entrance must be relocated within the building because it conflicts with the new doorway configuration; he emphasized the statue would be preserved and relocated rather than disposed of.
The project was put out to bid and will be advertised in two newspapers with a contractor walk‑through to follow. Bids will be opened on April 3, a board meeting night, and the administration expects to present bid results to the board in May. Demolition is scheduled to start June 5, after graduation, and the administration said the schedule is intended to minimize disruption to school events.
Board members praised the design and compared it to successful layouts at other districts; the board did not take a formal vote at the update.
