Dorchester School District Two advances multiple policy updates on support services, facilities, student records and harassment rules

The Dorchester School District Two Board of Trustees at its Feb. 24 policy meeting approved a package of policy updates and moved several other policy revisions out of committee, including changes to support services oversight, facilities and grounds management, student records rules and harassment complaint procedures.

Board members and staff considered proposed edits derived from a model policy set and recommendations tailored to the district’s administrative structure. Staff told the board the policies had not been updated since 02/2002 in several cases and that many recommended changes were stylistic or organizational rather than substantive. "This is a policy that had not been updated since 02/2002, so we are reviewing that today," a staff member said.
