District officials report steady progress on Hyde Park and Nibley construction; elementary school bid set for April 10

Parker said crews have raised insulated concrete form (ICF) walls at Hyde Park to near roof level in areas A and B and are completing ICF walls elsewhere on the project. "We're sticking with that accelerated schedule… I believe I mentioned last time that we're 2 to 3 months ahead of schedule," Parker said. He reported interior framing, plumbing and electrical installation are underway and that roof joists and trusses are scheduled to be delivered this month.
The update noted similar steady progress at the Nibley site, where crews have taken some walls to full height before installing steel structure. Parker said the Hyde Park contractor reported having surplus manpower and planned to send a crew to Nibley soon to accelerate that project.
On the elementary school, Parker said the district expects to receive a 95% set of drawings on Monday to allow a quick final review. He said the final construction documents were to be released for bid later this month, with bids due April 10. When a board member asked who the elementary contractor would be, Parker replied that DWA Construction had been awarded the package that includes the elementary school.
Parker cautioned that significant visible interior changes will appear once the roof membrane is installed, allowing drywall work to begin. The presentation included aerial and ground photos showing elevator shaft construction and interior framing.
No formal motions or votes were recorded on the construction update during the meeting; the item was presented for information and board members asked clarifying questions about contractors and schedules.
Looking ahead, the district will move from current construction milestones into bidding for the elementary school and into roof installation phases at the two larger sites, which Parker said should produce more visibly rapid progress.
