The summer reading camp is a three-week, no-cost instructional program for current second- and third-grade students who have not demonstrated grade-level proficiency in reading. “Summer reading camp actually began, in 2012, and per legislation, it includes second and third grade students,” Dr. Rogers said, adding the camp provides a minimum of 72 hours of programming aligned to the science of reading.
