The Livingston Parish School Board presented a certificate to student athlete Connor Hertz in recognition of his second state wrestling championship in the 75-pound weight class and related accomplishments.
A presenter at the meeting described Hertz's progression from middle school wrestler to two-time state champion, noted he was seeded fifth the prior year and was named most outstanding wrestler statewide, and said Hertz had overcome a knee injury this season. The presenter and others praised his dedication and noted he has committed to Central Methodist University in Missouri.
Coach Pat Mahoney of East Ascension High School was thanked for allowing Hertz to train with his team. At the meeting Dr. Ron McMorris assisted with presentation logistics and a board member asked the student to stand for recognition. The board took the moment to congratulate Hertz before moving on to routine business.
The presentation was brief and ceremonial.
