During public comment, homeowner Abdul Khan of 1650 Valencia Way described a legal-committee order requiring exterior painting and trim changes and said weather, unavailable approved paint at a local Sherwin‑Williams and recent personal hardships — he said he recently had a newborn child and lost his job — made immediate compliance difficult. Khan asked the board to extend the enforcement timeline, suggesting about four months for weather and job search reasons.
A board member moved to amend the consent calendar by removing the legal committee recommendation on 1650 Valencia Way and to discuss it in executive session; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. After executive session, the board approved a motion to defer consideration of the legal committee recommendation on 1650 Valencia Way to the first regular board meeting in April; that motion also passed unanimously.
The board did not adopt a final enforcement decision on 1650 Valencia Way at the Jan. 23 meeting; the matter will be revisited in April.
