Votes at a glance: Largo commission approves consent docket, permits and grant actions

The Largo City Commission on Jan. 21 approved its meeting agenda, the minutes of the Jan. 7 regular meeting and a consent docket that included appointments, grant modifications, equipment purchases and fee waivers related to hurricane damage.

The consent docket passed on a single vote with a 7-0 tally. Items listed on the consent docket included the appointment of Kristin Gerzak to the Code Enforcement Board; approval of a modification of a federal subaward agreement with the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management for $8,785,177 for a lift-station floodplain mitigation project; authorization to purchase grounds-maintenance equipment from Westco Turf Inc. for an estimated $111,000 under a Florida state contract; and resolutions reducing or waiving permit fees in response to damage from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The consent docket also included approval of Change Order No. 10 to contract 19-Q-684 for the multi-story mixed-use downtown City Hall project (an additional owner design contingency allowance estimated at $250,000).

Commissioners moved and seconded the consent motion and approved it without separate discussion. Other routine procedural votes — approval of the meeting agenda and approval of Jan. 7 minutes — also passed 7-0.
