The commission recommended approval of a group of applications (items 19 through 29) from 5 19 LLC covering a new mixed-use/multi-building project near the Sportsplex and convention center that will include units intended for short-term rental use.
Attorney Eddie Bridal and project team members described a redevelopment that replaces underutilized, fully impervious parcels with new buildings, improved landscaping and managed parking. The developer said the project will likely operate as short-term rentals during higher-demand months and use long-term leases during slower periods; all short-term units will be subject to the city's conditional use permit conditions and required parking.
Commissioners asked about management, security and winter occupancy; the developer said professional property management will oversee operations and the team will follow staff conditions for delivery access, lighting and landscaping. Planning staff confirmed the application package and conditions and the planning commission recommended approval by recorded vote of 10 to 0.
The project now advances to City Council for final consideration; staff will review detailed site-plan engineering, landscape, and lighting plans before council action.
