Planning commission approves consent agenda including multiple conditional use permits

The Virginia Beach Planning Commission on Jan. 2025 accepted and recommended approval of the consent agenda, a block of staff-supported items the commission judged to be unopposed or generally consistent with code.
The commission placed items 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 18 on the consent list and then voted to recommend approval by a recorded vote of 11 to 0. Applications on the consent agenda covered a range of matters: proffer modification for Born Primitive LLC (item 3); conditional rezoning and conditional use permit for a commercial marina (items 6 and 7); automobile repair and other small business use permits (items 8 and 9); subdivision variances and short-term rental conditional use permits for multiple properties (items 12, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 18).
Staff and applicants confirmed conditions on several items, including hours of operation adjustments and standard landscaping and parking conditions. Applicants present accepted staff conditions during the meeting and no speakers registered opposition for the consent items.
Commissioners noted that consent-listed projects will proceed to City Council for final action and staff will contact applicants about council hearing dates.
