Because the building is an accessible public facility, the work is needed to bring the elevator back online; the second floor of the community center was closed to the public at the time of the special meeting.
Vice Mayor Martin moved approval of Resolution No. 25R-03-48 and Commissioner Campbell seconded. The commission voted unanimously: Commissioner Campbell, Commissioner Hodgson, Vice Mayor Martin and Mayor Grant voted yes, passing the measure 4-0. No public comment was recorded. City staff said the change order was identified during construction review prior to the start of work and presented to the commission to allow the project to proceed.
The resolution authorizes the city to pay the additional amount and directs staff to proceed with the work needed to achieve code compliance and restore public access to the second floor of the Sat Kin Community Center.
