District staff told the Douglas County Board of Education on Jan. 13 that Paris Construction is the recommended construction manager for the replacement of Lithia Springs High School and that the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) will be developed collaboratively with the architectural firm Southern A and E.
The recommendation followed a request for proposals posted to the district website and procurement portals. Chelsea Goodman and other staff said Paris Construction scored highest under the RFP criteria and was recommended to lead construction management services for the project. Staff said funding will be identified and that, after the GMP is finalized, the GMP will be presented to the board for approval.
Timing and next steps
The staff presentation said the Paris Construction recommendation is on the agenda for discussion and will be on the board meeting agenda for approval on Jan. 21, 2025. Superintendent North said staff will provide pictures and renderings of the proposed high school at the next meeting.
Board engagement
Board members were given an opportunity to review the RFP response and were told to forward any questions to Superintendent North, who will coordinate responses with district staff and the architect. No final contract or GMP was approved at the Jan. 13 meeting.

The board will consider the recommended construction manager and any GMP approval at the Jan. 21 meeting; staff said additional project materials, including renderings, will be part of the Jan. 21 packet.
