Babylon Zoning Board approves several variances and sign/site permits; reserves decision on multiple accessory-structure requests

The Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals heard more than a half dozen applications at its most recent meeting, approving signage and site-work requests for commercial properties, renewing a public-garage permit, and approving a manufacturing/site-improvement application with conditions while reserving decisions or keeping the record open on several residential accessory-structure variance requests.

The board approved a sign revision for Ashley Furniture (application 25026) to reflect the company’s updated logo and granted the sign variance for a three‑year period. The board also approved directional and building signage for the CubeSmart self‑storage facility (application 25012) for five years to help motorists locate the new facility from Route 110 after nearby development reduced sightlines. Both approvals were presented as largely administrative requests intended to improve customer wayfinding.

In commercial site matters, the board approved a site‑work and parking plan for Seabreeze Mechanical (application 25021) subject to conditions including removal of barbed wire and required permits for storage containers, and contingent on approval from the town fire marshal.
