Extra Mile representatives presented a design-standard review proposing to repaint the exterior of the convenience store at 7655 Sunset Highway and to install a new illuminated wall sign and a replaced face on a freestanding sign.
Grace Manahan, the city’s code compliance planner, introduced the item as Design Standard Review 25-002. Nicole Evans, the applicant’s representative, said the proposal covers repainting all exterior surfaces in two colors (identified in the presentation as “shaded whisper” and “statue garden”), painting the trash enclosure, installing an illuminated wall sign of 12.4 square feet connected to existing electrical, and replacing the face of an existing freestanding sign with a 2.8-square-foot face. Evans said no work was proposed to the gas canopy or to the freestanding sign structure.
Commissioners had no substantive questions during the presentation. Evans asked about next steps; staff confirmed there is one more commission meeting required and, after that review, the applicant will submit for building permits. No formal action or vote was taken; the item was presented as a study session and will return for further review.
Next steps and context
Manahan and staff confirmed the project must return for an additional review before the applicant files for building permits. The transcript records only the design review presentation and the scheduling note; permit requirements and any code conditions will be determined at later review.
