Greenside, who gave his name and address as "Steven Greenside, 52 Windsor Road," told commissioners he has lived in Sudbury for almost 10 years, has three children and a background in information technology and website work. ‘‘Sudbury's got a a rich a rich history that I would, you know, like to be part of,’’ he said during a short introduction.
Commissioners asked Greenside about his availability and interest in supporting commission projects. Commissioners noted the commission has an ongoing project to make its house inventories more accessible online and described a role for someone with his skills linking inventories and map overlays. Greenside said he enjoys building websites and would be interested in helping with online presentation of the inventories, while acknowledging household and work commitments.
After discussion, Commissioner Chris made a motion recommending Greenside’s appointment to the commission; another commissioner seconded the motion. The commission recorded unanimous affirmative votes from the attending commissioners. Members said the vote is the first step: the commission will send its recommendation to the town manager and copy the select board; the town manager or select board may contact the candidate before final appointment.
Next steps spelled out by the commission included sending the recommendation package to the town manager, enabling the town manager’s office or the select board to follow up directly with Greenside about formal appointment and onboarding. Commissioners encouraged Greenside to reach back to them if he did not hear from the town manager within a few weeks.
The commission also reminded the candidate and the public that commission meetings are held virtually and that meeting times and schedules are posted on the commission’s website.
