Sustainability staff to transition as climate‑resilience projects continue; consultants to lead next steps

Danny, the sustainability staff member working on the town's climate initiatives, announced he has accepted a new position and will leave the Town of Sudbury with his last day scheduled for the coming Monday. He said he is preparing a transition plan for active projects and will provide outreach guidance for the specialized stretch code and other efforts.
Danny reported that phase two of the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) project has completed community engagement and reset resilience priorities. Consultants and the core team are finalizing a c‑project plan that would create a "climate resilience coaching core" and an assessment checklist; the consultant MAPC and the core team will vet a final implementation plan with potential community partners and seek state approval and funding for implementation.
Danny said Adam Burney, the town planning director, will take over as point person for MVP2 and Vivian Zhang, the town health director, will serve as co‑point person; both have been part of the core team. Danny also described "Locally Grown Sudbury," a program funded by grants from the Sudbury Foundation and an MVP action grant to pilot farmers markets, community outreach, and workshops to promote local food and food security; Leila Frank in the select board office will take point on that effort.
Committee members thanked Danny for his service and asked staff to develop a clear transition plan for ongoing projects.
