Jim Oganowski, an Edmonds resident, addressed the council during audience comments to thank organizers of a recent Civic Roundtable event and to criticize the city for hiring a public‑relations firm in connection with an upcoming ballot measure.
"I am disappointed to learn that the city has hired a PR firm, to advocate for the ballot measure. Spending taxpayers money to advance your position," Oganowski said. He asked how many council members knew of the hire and raised concern that the firm specializes in crisis management.
Mayor and council members acknowledged the public comment; no immediate council response or action occurred on the record during audience comments.
