Commission recommends reappointment of domestic well owner representative Michael Widmer

The Northern Nevada Water Planning Commission on March 5 recommended that the Western Regional Water Commission reappoint Michael Widmer as the commission’s domestic well owner representative.
Kim Rigdon, program manager, said Widmer was first appointed to the Western Regional Water Commission on Jan. 15, 2020 and reappointed on March 16, 2022; she noted a clerical error in the staff report that incorrectly listed March 21. Rigdon said Widmer’s current term expires March 31 and that Widmer had expressed interest in continuing to serve.
A commissioner moved to recommend Widmer for reappointment; another commissioner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The reappointment is a recommendation to the Western Regional Water Commission; the Western commission will complete any final appointment steps required by its rules. No additional discussion of duties, term length beyond expiration date, or alternate candidates was recorded during the meeting.
