Board grants 30-day continuance for Jones appeal of code-enforcement order

The Washoe County Board of Adjustment on March 6 granted a 30-day continuance for an appeal filed in a code-enforcement matter (Jones appeal), at the request of county staff and the appellant's legal counsel.
Planning manager Jagga Singer told the board that counsel for the parties asked for additional time to negotiate a compliance agreement. "They want to work out a compliance plan," Singer said. The board moved and seconded a continuance request and approved it; the item is scheduled to return on April 3.
The continuance was moved by Board Member Kathy Julian and seconded by Rob Pierce and passed without objection. Staff said the pause will allow Code Enforcement and the appellant's counsel to pursue a compliance agreement and potentially withdraw the appeal if successful.
The board opened public comment for the item and received none before approving the continuance.
