Zollmer told the committee that her town has had multiple complaints about the property and that deputies and county staff had not recorded a complete ambulance report for 2024. She asked the committee to allow Sand Lake and Edgewater representatives to speak later in the meeting about ambulance coverage and other local concerns.
The county code enforcement officer (identified in the meeting as Jen) briefed the committee on animal-control and Tourist Rooming House (TRH) issues. She said dogs at large and trespassing complaints related to short‑term rentals are being handled, that staff have contacted the property owner and that new policies and procedures tied to the recently adopted TRH ordinance are in development. "We are working with the owner of the property," she said, adding the office expects the policies to be finished within "a week or two" so complaints can be entered and tracked consistently.
Animal-control data presented to the committee showed nine admissions into the county pound for the reporting month, with four returned to owners, four transferred to rescues or shelters and one animal euthanized after being surrendered and showing aggressive behavior.
Ending: County staff said they will complete TRH policies and improve complaint-tracking procedures; deputies and dispatch said they will follow up on specific allegations and preserve investigative records such as body-cam footage when appropriate.
