The Paramount City Council voted unanimously on Feb. 25 to award the City Hall parking lot expansion contract to ARC Construction Inc. The expansion will add 34 parking spaces to serve City Hall, the Clearwater Building and future civic uses.
Public Works Director Adriana Figueroa told the council that 11 bids were received and staff identified a minor bid irregularity that was corrected. After correction, the apparent low responsive and responsible bidder was ARC Construction Inc. with a bid of $930,873.16. Figueroa said the total project cost, including a 10% contingency, brings the amount to slightly more than $1,000,000; funding for the work was included in the fiscal year 2025 Capital Improvement Program using general capital project funds.
Figueroa said the contract schedule would give the contractor about three months to finish work after materials are ordered and a notice to proceed is issued, assuming no supply interruptions.
Council members made a motion and the clerk recorded a unanimous roll call approving the award. No speaker opposed the contract that evening.
