The Village Board heard committee reports from the Library Board and the Board of Health.
The Library Board presented its 2024 annual report and highlighted $28,800 in donations from local families and businesses, expanded hours compared with the Milwaukee County suburban library average, a new three-year plan, replacement of 400 children's books and the installation of self-checkout kiosks. The library also hosted two candidate forums and helped transition to a new county catalog.
The Board of Health reported continued outreach during cold-and-flu season, ongoing radon testing, and several community events organized by the Community Alliance including a family wellness event, a community conversation on The Anxious Generation (April 9) and other programs scheduled in May and late May. Trustees noted Community Alliance focuses on substance misuse prevention with emphasis on vaping, alcohol and marijuana and partners with neighboring communities.
Finance staff noted auditors will be on site March 19–20 to finalize 2024 numbers and that interest earnings for January are running ahead of budget.
