A public commenter, identifying as a parent of four Racine Unified School District students and a student ambassador, praised Racine Unified School District programs and said the district’s emphasis on safety gives the family peace of mind.
“We chose RUSD for the opportunities,” the commenter said. The speaker highlighted the Academies of Racine, involvement in STEM, volleyball, Girls Inc., community events, family nights and advanced classes, and said International Baccalaureate coursework prepared them to pursue a career in medicine or health-care administration.
The speaker said teachers at Racine Unified “inspired me to dream build” and described seeing daily growth in students’ creativity, critical thinking and love of learning. The commenter added that having their children attend school “in good hands gives us peace of mind daily.”
The speaker also said they would not “be where I am today without the foundation at RUSD and Blue Cross,” and closed by urging continued investment in public education: “Strong schools build strong communities. Investing in a public education means investing in a brighter future for all of us.”
The remarks were delivered during the meeting’s public-comment portion and did not include any formal motions, votes or requests for specific board action.
