Ruth said the developer will rebuild and realign the existing sidewalk along Stewart to match adjacent frontage and that a new inclusive easement has been signed. Staff recommended approval, and council approved the ordinance by voice vote.
Miss Ann Hardy, a city staff member, presented a resolution declaring the city’s intent to reimburse certain expenditures incurred before the issuance of tax‑exempt bonds. Hardy said the resolution preserves the federal tax status for future tax‑exempt borrowings by allowing the city to reimburse pre‑issuance expenses such as planning and design. Council approved the resolution; Hardy said the city would provide further updates during the budget process.
Rob Ruth returned to present a resolution to abandon approximately 340 square feet of road right‑of‑way along Stewart Avenue needed due to a building redesign; staff recommended approval and council adopted the resolution by voice vote.
Council also announced local program winners: Benjamin Betts Jr. was named Smart Switch winner and will receive a $50 utility credit; Charlotte Hogue was named Customer Connect winner and will receive a $50 utility credit.
