Staff reports no major updates on Landing, Sandusky Bay Pathway and other older projects; Battery Park PUD moving toward final plan

City staff told the Sandusky Boards & Commissions there were no substantive updates for several older agenda items but provided a brief status on each.

On the Landing project, staff said the city received a single bid and is evaluating options within existing EPA permits; staff described additional permitting and scheduling complexity and said they are considering whether and how to rebid.

The Sandusky Bay Pathway is under construction with Mark Haines Construction, which is working on the west side of Hemminger Ditch. Staff said the portion of the pathway within the Landing had been bid as part of the Landing project and the pathway section north of the Sports Center is being treated as the pathway project.

On the Battery Park planned unit development, staff said the preliminary plan had been approved by the Planning Commission and City Commission. The developer is working toward a final development plan; staff reported no awareness of major changes to heights, uses or building arrangement. Planning Commission granted an extension for the developer to file a final plan, and staff said the developer indicated an intention to bring the final plan to Planning Commission in 2025.

Staff listed other projects (Causeway Wetlands, Jackson Street Parking Lot Hotel) as having no new updates at the meeting.

No formal decisions or contract awards were taken at this meeting for these items; staff said more analysis and potential rebidding will be required for projects that received limited bids.
