The Palatka Planning Board voted to approve the final plat for a subdivision renamed Fairway Estates (previously submitted as Moseley Heights) after the applicant revised the document to address prior staff and board concerns.
Staff said the revised plat corrected references to the northern boundary, removed a mortgage notation from the title opinion, and changed the name from Moseley Heights to Fairway Estates. City legal counsel advised the board that, under Florida statute governing subdivision names, the new name did not create prohibited confusion with nearby plats (for example Fairway Park) and therefore was acceptable.
Board members discussed minor technical corrections appearing in the general notes and in CAD‑produced labels; staff said those would be corrected before the plat proceeded to the city commission. A motion to approve the final plat (case PB23‑19) passed on a unanimous voice vote.
No public opposition was recorded at the hearing. The board’s approval clears the plat to move forward in the city's final plat adoption and recording process.
