Area Plan representative Liz Stitzel told the Clinton County Board of Commissioners on March 4 that staff will bring an unsafe-structure matter for discussion at the next commissioners' meeting and that a letter has been sent to the property owner to notify them in advance.
Stitzel did not present additional details at the March 4 meeting but invited commissioners to contact her for background on the east-side property prior to the next meeting.
Separately, commissioners approved a motion to continue using Platinum Landscaping for mowing services in 2025. The board recorded the motion and vote as carrying 3-0; staff said this would be Platinum Landscaping's third consecutive year as a contractor for area-plan mowing services.
Why it matters: the unsafe-structure item will be considered at a future meeting and could lead to enforcement action if the property meets statutory criteria. The mowing contract ensures continuity of routine property maintenance services administered through the Area Plan department.
Next steps: the unsafe-structure item will be on the upcoming agenda; commissioners and staff may convene before that meeting to review details. The mowing contract will be implemented for 2025 services.
