Barnett said he had “a cursory look at the I Ready scores and every school has shown growth, from the first time to the second time,” and added, “Some of them have shown fantastic growth that, that you wouldn't have imagined. So, what these folks are doing is working. And I congratulate them.”
The presentation included a referenced proficiency figure of 69 percent for the school represented by Principal Kim Blair; presenters described this as showing the school is in the top third for the district. Board members repeatedly commended staff for consistent implementation of interventions and for results they said appear to be repeatable across years.
Board President Cartwright (participating in the meeting) praised the staff and said he had asked Principal Cooper to share successful practices countywide at a principals’ meeting. Other board members echoed that the classroom work and the district’s approach to reteaching or remediation appear to be producing measurable improvements.
Presenters and board members discussed practical supports: improvements in locker-room facilities, updates to the indoor camera system, and the use of backup personnel for certain duties. No formal policy changes or budget allocations specific to the LSIP were recorded during the presentation.
