Jennifer Eberly, identified in the meeting as chief of staff, told trustees that under current policy a student transferring into Bastrop ISD from another district receives advanced‑course weighting only if a similar course exists at the receiving Bastrop campus. The revision extends a consistent process to transfers between Bastrop ISD campuses so that an honors, AP or dual‑credit course will be listed on the transcript and the weight will match the equivalent course offered at the receiving high school.
Eberly said the change “ensures that the same process applies to transfers within the district,” adding that the transcript will continue to list the advanced course even when weight parity cannot be applied.
A board member moved to approve the revision to policy EIC (local); the motion was seconded and the board voted to adopt the change. The board’s action was procedural policy revision to ensure consistent treatment of internal transfers; no change to course content or transcript labeling was proposed.
