At the March 3 meeting the Los Altos School District Board of Trustees approved several action items, including a tentative collective bargaining agreement with the classified employees’ union, changes to the Measure N bond budget, and a bond program management services contract; the board also cast its ballots for four CSBA delegate assembly candidates.
Tentative agreement with CSEA
The board voted to approve a tentative agreement with California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 103 covering the 2024–25 school year. The district disclosed the financial impact in the agenda materials. According to district staff, the agreement contemplates an 8.5% increase on the salary schedule for 2024–25, reclassification of library specialist positions and minor language changes. The motion to approve was made by Vladimir and seconded by Stella; the board voted in favor and the motion passed unanimously.
Measure N budget revision
The board considered a revision to the Measure N bond budget to record several project adjustments and new allocations the district described, including planned portable removal at Almond School (budgeted at $125,000), parking lot and ADA work at Gardner Bullis and other project reconciliations. Trustee Brian moved to approve the budget revision subject to an adjustment that would place the Almond expenditures in the correct budget category; the motion was seconded by Vladimir and passed unanimously.
Bond program management contract (Measure EE kickoff)
Trustees approved an initial contract not to exceed $260,000 with a program management firm (identified in the staff report as Cummings Group) for bond program management services to support rollout of Measure EE (a $350 million bond the community passed in November). District staff said the $260,000 purchase order covers services through the end of the fiscal year and that staff will return with an amendment for services in the next fiscal year as needs are defined. The motion to approve the agreement was made by Vladimir and seconded by Stella; the board approved the contract unanimously.
CSBA delegate assembly vote
The board cast its ballots to fill four vacancies on the California School Boards Association (CSBA) delegate assembly. After brief discussion, the board voted to cast its four votes for Theresa Castellanos (San Jose Unified), Naomi Nakano Matsumoto (Fremont Union High School District), George Sanchez (Franklin‑McKinley Elementary School District) and Shelly Cirque (Los Altos School District). The motion to cast the ballot was made by Stella and seconded by Jim; the motion passed unanimously.
Motions, movers and formal outcomes cited above are recorded in the meeting minutes and the agenda packet. No roll‑call vote tallies beyond unanimous passage were read into the public record during the motions; the clerk announced the motions passed.
