Boerne ISD rezones Collection at Boerne to Voss Middle and Champion High to preserve alignment and capacity

The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees voted Feb. 24 to adjust secondary attendance boundaries for the Collection at Boerne development, rezoning the new duplex community to Voss Middle School and Champion High School.
Dr. O'Hare presented district demographic data showing that Voss Middle School has spare capacity while Boerne Middle School North and South are projected to reach capacity sooner. PASA, the district’s demographer, estimates the Collection at Boerne will contain 214 units and will generate about 0.29 students per unit; full buildout could add roughly 62 students districtwide, with an early-year impact of about 12 students when 40 units are completed.
Trustees said the rezoning improves alignment so students from Cibolo Creek Elementary who live in the new development will progress with campus peers to the same middle and high schools. Dr. O'Hare described the change as proactive: there are no current students in the development, and the rezoning is intended to give the developer and prospective residents accurate school assignments as homes are occupied.
A board member asked for additional demographer detail in future updates on slower-growth versus higher-growth projections; administration said PASA provides more detailed scenarios in the full report and staff will request supplemental modeling for planning. The motion to approve the boundary change passed with a standard majority (no roll-call tally was read aloud at the time of the meeting).
