Crystal Beach pool to open May 23; weekday and weekend hours announced

Parks staff told the board that Crystal Beach pool will have a soft opening on Friday, May 23. For May 23 through June 8 the pool hours will be 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. From June 9 through Sept. 1 weekday hours will remain 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., while weekend hours will extend to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Staff said the later weekend hours beginning June 9 are intended to give families more time after work and school to use the pool while it is still warm. The board was given these dates and hours as part of a written report included in the packet; staff did not propose a motion for the board to adopt the schedule during the meeting.
The parks report also noted registration for summer programs (baseball/softball, T-ball, cheerleading, camps) is open, and staff are working with communications to expand outreach beyond social media.
