DRC reviews annexation, rezonings and development plans; engineers and staff press drainage and traffic details

The City of Apopka Development Review Committee on March 5 considered a series of land‑use and development items, including an annexation application, rezoning proposals, plats and construction site plans. Committee members and applicants focused questions on stormwater performance, off‑site utilities, traffic mitigation and permit sequencing.

Annexation and rezonings: Staff opened an initial annexation discussion for the Onditch North property (near the Lake County line); the applicant was present but committee comments were limited and the city attorney was still reviewing a planning comment, according to the applicant’s representative, Luke Classen of Appian Engineering. For 724 West Keene Road the applicant proposed a future land‑use change to Residential Medium (10 dwelling units per acre) and rezoning to RMF (residential multifamily); the applicant was available to answer questions but no substantive policy decisions were recorded.
