Greene County commissioners reviewed Community Crossings paving bids and a detailed per‑project cost listing and authorized county staff to award the projects to the lowest responsible bidders as funds permit.
Staff read a per‑project breakdown during the March 4 meeting; one set of project totals listed a concluding total of $2,176,753.50. A representative from E & B Paving was present for the discussion. After staff answered questions about paperwork and project sheets, a commissioner moved to give staff authority to award projects as money is available to the lowest responsible bidder; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Why it matters: Community Crossings projects fund road and paving work across multiple locations; commissioners reviewed more than a dozen individual project amounts during the meeting and approved staff authority to proceed with awards within available funding.
The motion authorized county staff to proceed with awards; specific contract awards and construction schedules will be handled by the highway department and returned to the board if required by policy.
