Economic development officials announce Prometheus Energetics site, say operations could begin in 2027

Green County economic development staff told Greene County commissioners that Prometheus Energetics, a joint venture of Kratos and Rafael, has selected a roughly 500‑acre site about 5 miles from Westgate for manufacturing and testing operations.

The staff member said the project is expected to create about 375 jobs by 2032 and that initial operations could begin in the second quarter of 2027. “They’re saying operations by quarter 2 2027,” the economic development representative said during the March 4 meeting.
