The Public Works and Highway Committee unanimously approved a contract not to exceed $31,692 with May Corp LLC to paint and restore the Kinderberg Park splash pad.
Matt, public works staff, said the project was budgeted in the park department’s 2025 non‑borrowed capital program and that May Corp came in as the low bidder of two respondents. The contract includes a standard one‑year warranty on the resurfacing work.
Committee members asked about expected useful life after resurfacing and the project schedule. Matt said the department expects the resurfacing and planned mechanical upgrades to provide about five years of service before more substantial work would be required. “The idea is to get that 5 plus years out of the splash pad before something more substantial needs to be done,” Matt said. He added staff’s aim is to complete the painting work and be out of the site by Memorial Day so the splash pad can open for the season; mechanical upgrade timing is being coordinated by Gil, parks staff.
The committee voted unanimously to award the contract.
