A staff presenter told the Huntington City Council work session on Jan. 27 that the administration is recommending the mayor be authorized to enter a contract for two Ford F-250 XL trucks for the Huntington Fire Department.
The presenter said the successful bidder was University Ford of Huntington with a bid of $108,866. One truck would be configured as a command response vehicle and the second as a utility vehicle for department use.
The resolution was introduced as the first resolution of the year and the first for the new council. The presenter offered to answer questions; no formal vote or contract authorization was recorded at the work session.
If approved in a future meeting, the contract will supply two specified vehicles to the fire department to support emergency response and utility functions.
