City manager outlines West Oak Street–John Young Parkway intersection improvements funded by FDOT

Knight said the intersection serves the Medical Arts District, a major employment area, and that the work is primarily funded by the Florida Department of Transportation though the city is facilitating the project. He estimated the work would take about a year and said staff expect the improvements to ease traffic flow and improve pedestrian crossings.
Commissioners acknowledged potential short-term disruptions and social-media criticisms but supported the project as a long-term improvement to access and safety for employees, patients and visitors to the medical district.
